Photo Share Tuesday and ??????

Good Day or should I say Good Evening and Happy Tuesday!
This week my posts will be later in the day as this seems to be the only time I have to myself.  The joys of being a WAHM but I would not change it for the world. :-) 
I love to share photos and I have so many of them from Happy Unique By Sab customers which is even better.  In a nut shell I hand make accessories for children but that is not always the case.  I have had many custom orders for adults as well.  YES, adults!! Pretty cool I thought.  So far I have made Beanies for men and women.

I have made Mitten Clips for a hard working tradesman in Alberta.



As well as Mitten Clips for this gal as well.

I was also honoured by being able to make Hair Clips for a Wedding party including all the brides maids and flower girls.





I enjoy receiving all the photos from customers.  I love being able to see who is going to be sporting a Unique accessory about town.  I also like knowing that the customer is happy with the accessory they have purchased.

Ribbon Addiction, Yay or Nay?

Good Day and Happy Monday. 
After a busy but productive weekend, I realised something late Sunday while making hair clips.  I have A LOT of RIBBON!!!   The thing is there are so many different colours, designs and fabrics  ribbon is made out of its hard to choose just a select few.  Then there are all different sizes as well.  I alone, carry 4 different sizes for the project I make in countless designs.

So how to keep this mess of ribbon all organised and neat?  Well, I did give it my best effort and found a few of these handy, dandy ribbon racks that fit any size ribbon out there.  Which works great for me. I chose not to attach mine to a wall but the option is there if I would like to in the future.

So after doing a quick count I currently have over 100 different ribbons. WOW!!! I never thought I had that much but I guess I do.  So what did I do when I found out I had this much ribbon?

Bought MORE of course. :-)

Family Literacy Day!!!

Good Day and Happy Family Literacy Day!!

Along with hand making accessories there is always more than enough time to stop and read a fantastic book with my two children.  We have many favourites we go back and read over and over again such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

 Another favourite we have is Winters Gift by Jane Monroe Donovan.  Which is about a farmer who's wife has passed away but gains new hope when he saves a mare during a snow storm and is blessed with a wonderful gift.

Who can not like Robert Munch.  A fantastic story writer as well as story teller.  His books are full of

fun, surprises and well just plain humour.  I still love his books and find them a joy to read.  My personal favourite is I Have to Go.  This book is all about a little boy who when asked if he has to go always says "NO" but as soon as they are in the car, has his snowsuit on or during dinner never guess who has to "GO". A very funny tale and I'm sure some of you parents can relate. :-)

We read a lot of books together but another way we read as a family is playing board games, magazines even reading the instructions when baking cookies.

So get out there and READ with your family today. Make it a daily activity you can all look forward to.  Please comment what books or other reading activities you like to enjoy with your family.  I'm always looking for NEW books or ideas.  This WAHM mama looks forward to this time of day to wind down and grab a great book with the kids.

Hair Clip Madness

Good day and happy Thursday to you all.  The week is almost at a end of which I'm sure many of you are quite happy when Friday rolls around.:-)
Today has been nominated "Hair Clip Madness Day", well by me anyway.  Why you ask?  This is the day I drag out all my hair clip making supplies, cover my entire dinning room table, make a HUGE mess and go to town.  Making those oh so cute clips for your little girls hair.  Fine hair or thick hair these little hair jewels stay in.  Success right? Of course. :-) 
I wanted to share with you the process of my hair clip making adventure.  It is quite a scene.  Starting with the HUGE mess I mentioned earlier and the complete loss of my dinning room table.

Assembly has begun and well hot glue is NOT my friend.  We don't get along very well but I always prevail. :-)

My most favourite part.  Jewels, jewels and more jewels.  Who doesn't like bling right?  I put a lot of thought when adding these shimmery embellishments to each clip.  Making sure they are centred just right. My fingers are a little numb after this process thanks to hot glue but its all worth it in the end.

I also love, love, love flowers.  Way to cute in little girls hair and fantastic accessory to moms wardrobe.

Then at the end of the day it makes it all worth it.  Cute, handmade hair clips made with a lot of thought put into them.  A unique accessory!! :-)

A day in the life of a WAHM

First I must say sorry for the major delay. Life just creeps up on you and before you know it its the end of January.
Unique by Sab is a WAHM venture but with that title comes, well a multitasking mama that some how gets it all done by the end of the day. I can promise you it is quite a site for sore eyes and many of you would get a good laugh. All in a days work is what I say.
So how did this WAHM mom of 2 come up with Unique by Sab? By having kids of my own and wanting cool, trendy and well unique things for them. So to end it for today I'm going to share with you my 1st creation and baby that started it all back in late June 2010.
